About Us
Intifada Foundation
Introduction
Intifada Foundation is a non-political organization dedicated to social development, education, culture, and research.
Name and the Significance of Naming
Name and Naming
The Arabic word Intifada translates into Bengali as renaissance, awakening, uprising, struggle, or resistance. However, the term Intifada is globally recognized as synonymous with the Palestinian liberation movement. Since the Intifada Foundation aims to work for the liberation of humanity and believes that true freedom can be achieved through the awakening of knowledge and taqwa (piety), the name “Intifada” was initially chosen. Later, several other names were proposed, among which the former head of Hamas, Ustadh Khaled Meshaal, expressed his support for the name Intifada. Thus, the organization was finally named the Intifada Foundation.
The Story Behind the Establishment of the Foundation
Origin and Formation of the Foundation
Since 2019, Ustadh Muhaiminul Hasan Riyad, as the Bangladeshi Coordinator of the Palestine Scholars Association(PSA), has been actively organizing various initiatives to build public awareness and support in favor of Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque. To make these efforts more structured and to contribute to Bangladesh’s social development, guidance was provided by the Ulama Council. Following that direction, the decision was made to establish a platform in Bangladesh. The President of the Ulama Council, Shaykh al-Hadith Allama Dr. Nawwaf Takruri (Hafizahullah), personally oversaw all matters related to this initiative. Subsequently, on August 15, 2022, during an international youth conference in Istanbul, the Intifada Foundation was officially inaugurated through its launching program. The event was attended by over 300 delegates and international personalities from 40 countries, marking the formal beginning of the foundation’s journey.

A Brief Overview of the Foundation’s Activities Since Inception
Achievements
Project for the Mujahid Brothers: Following the Israeli aggression in Gaza that began on October 7, 2023, the Palestine Scholars Association(PSA) instructed us to initiate a collection for the Mujahid brothers on October 9, 2023. On October 15, we transferred the first installment of the collected funds to them, followed by the second installment on October 27, 2023. Since then, we have been consistently delivering contributions to the Mujahid brothers once or twice every month. Insha’Allah, this project will continue for as long as the struggle for the liberation of Palestine persists.
Food Distribution: As part of our humanitarian efforts in Gaza, we have successfully carried out over 30 projects to provide food, dry rations, cooked meals, and essential supplies to the unarmed people of Gaza, Alhamdulillah.
Orphans’ Project: Under the supervision of the Palestine Ulama Council in Gaza, we have provided food and cash assistance to 141 children, each of whom has lost their entire family and is the sole surviving member. Additionally, on the occasion of Eid in Ramadan 2025, we distributed essential clothing and supplies to these children.
Cash Assistance: In addition to humanitarian aid in Gaza, we have implemented two projects to provide cash assistance to patients receiving medical treatment in hospitals.
Winter Clothing Distribution: During the winters of 2024 and 2025, we distributed winter clothing to the general population in Gaza.
Qurbani Project: During Eid al-Adha in 2024 and 2025, Qurbani meat was distributed among the general population in Gaza. In 2024, 2 large cows and 3 sheep were sacrificed and distributed, while in 2025, 3 large cows were sacrificed and distributed.
Mosque Construction Project: At the beginning of 2024, 10 mosques were constructed in Gaza under the mosque construction project (currently inactive).
Tube Well Installation: A joint project with the Ulama Council was initiated in Gaza to install tube wells for drinking water. However, during the course of the work, 7 volunteers were martyred in an Israeli attack, and as a result, the tube well installation could not be completed.
Flood Relief Distribution: Following the floods in July 2024, food distribution projects were carried out in Feni (2 projects), Comilla (2 projects), and Lakshmipur (2 projects) to provide aid to the affected communities.
Quds Week Implementation: Since 2021, under the leadership of the Palestine Ulama Council, we have been observing Quds Week in Bangladesh through various programs. The initiative aims to raise public awareness against the illegal occupation of Palestine and Masjid al-Aqsa by the terrorist state of Israel and to express solidarity with the Palestinian people in their struggle to reclaim their rights.
